Welcome
Fun Bot Lab is on a mission to foster global learning and growth for children through LEGO robotics. We strive to create environments that inspire creativity and educational exploration.
Rest in Peace, Sequoia Slentz.
Last May 16th, marks the third year since my friend Sequoia Slentz died by suicide. Sequoia was the charismatic visionary who first inspired and collaborated with me to ship LEGO robotics to Africa.
I first partnered with him as society was in the middle of the COVID lockdowns. Having decided to close my summer camp and liquidate Fun Bot Lab's assets, I was searching for someone to help distribute my LEGO products to the most underprivileged kids I could find.
In Sequoia, I found a partner who worked tirelessly. He had already created an organization called Play Well Africa, attracted donors, generated marketing buzz, and built relationships through frequent visits to Uganda, all while establishing a strong foundation that was an excellent fit for Fun Bot Lab’s mission.
The shock of his death motivated me to train as a 988 Lifeline volunteer with Hopelink Behavioral Health, where I learned to build rapport with people in distress and help prevent others from taking their lives.
This experience in turn led me to Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia, where I'm currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling and deepening my commitment to supporting others through psychological challenges.
Rest in peace, Sequoia, your vision and passion continue to inspire positive change in the world.
If you or someone you know are experiencing emotional distress, thoughts of suicide, or a mental health or substance use crisis, help is always available. For immediate assistance, call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org.

Stories from Uganda
Kickstart 2023
Fun Bot Lab's Partnership with Play Well Africa & Kuyamba Ministries
In 2023, Fun Bot Lab initiated a partnership with Play Well Africa and Kuyamba Ministries. This collaboration involved shipping LEGO robotics from Arlington, VA, to Kampala, Uganda, with the aim of identifying a S.T.E.A.M. school to benefit from the resources and provide 21st-century skills education to underprivileged children.

Fun Bot Lab brings Legos to Uganda
The interplay between technology and education in rural Uganda is one of the fascinating stories to emerge from the last two decades. The growth of Lego robotics in Uganda is a clear example of the value of technology to the field of education - yet it has its challenges.
Fun Bot Lab has recently distributed Lego and LEGO robotics to children in Uganda to help build a kids’ robotics program in partnership with Kuyamba Ministries and its network of passionate volunteers who teach children how to use the technology.
This program has provided the children in Uganda with a fun and educational activity that would help them develop their skills and creativity as well as provide them with a positive experience where they enjoyed learning about robotics and building their robots.
